Choose Cooler Times to Play
Early mornings and evenings are your best friend.
The midday sun can turn even a quick walk into a serious risk. Schedule exercise during the cooler hours — before 10 a.m. or after 6 p.m. — and keep sessions shorter when temps rise.
Hydration Is Non-Negotiable
Always have fresh, cool water available.
Bring a collapsible water bowl or dog-safe bottle when heading out. At home, consider placing multiple water stations around your space — especially in shady outdoor areas.
Seek Out Shade and Shelter
Not all play has to be in direct sun.
If you’re outside for long periods, make sure your Doodle has access to covered spots or pop-up shade. Even short stints in full sun can spike body temp, especially for darker-coated pups.
